EWI - External Wall Insulation Systems

EWI - Flexibility in design

The grey monotony of dismal 1960’s suburbs, dispensing with any real design, did not create a worthwhile environment and is no longer acceptable to the people living and working in them.

No other construction method allows you greater flexibility of design than EWI. Using an infinite combination of textures, colours, shapes and materials, the architect has total freedom to realise the client’s vision.

EWI - The complete insulation system

Over half the energy required for heating a building escapes through the exterior walls. If we also consider that approximately 75% of domestic energy consumption is devoted to heating, then the ecological and economic impact becomes apparent.

Research shows the most effective way of insulating a building is by total encapsulation. No matter what the construction of the walls, no matter what the shape of the building, the ‘Tea cosy’ effect is unsurpassed. Using External Wall Insulation, ensures that, while the effects of cold bridging and interstitial condensation may effect some other methods of insulation, a totally encapsulated building remains warm and dry.

Basic

The Basic External Wall Insulation System is a real success. Both economical and versatile, it has proved successful for many decades and for millions of square metres on buildings, in a wide variety of uses. The system helps to save energy, to preserve the environment, and it provides long-term protection for the building. At the same time the level of comfort inside the building is increased and a pleasant indoor climate created. Finally, Basic with its wide range of associated finishes such as render, ceramics or wood, provides the architect, planner or owner with almost unlimited scope for realising creative ideas.

Basic 1 is the primary system in this range. It is a high performance, fully acrylic or mineral/silicone based thin coat render system.

Ecomin

The alsecco Ecomin External Wall Insulation System provides an ideal combination of thermal insulation and fire protection. It was one of the first mineral systems on the market. Since then it has proved extremely successful for nearly three decades of practical application. Wide experience with the system guarantees a high level of quality and functional reliability. Ecomin offers a high level of water vapour permeability, it helps to save energy and to maintain the fabric of the building in the long term. The system also keeps the full range of design possibilities open.

Ecomin 200 is the primary system in this range. It
is available as a thin or thick coat render system with high levels of flexibility, able to cope where inconsistencies or irregularities in the substrate occur.
